Simple Ways to Celebrate Together

THANKSGIVING TRADITIONS THAT BUILD BELONGING

Thanksgiving is a holiday centered on gratitude, family and shared traditions. FOSTER PARENT TIP
This holiday season, consider how your family can give back. Whether you contribute to local gift drives, volunteer with a nonprofit, or sign up to mentor a local teen, every act of kindness makes a difference.
TRAINING CORNER
The holiday season can be a time filled with warmth, celebration, and family connection—but for children in foster care, it can also bring up feelings of grief, confusion, and loss. While many families eagerly anticipate traditions and gatherings, children in care may be struggling with painful reminders of separation, uncertainty about where they belong, or worry about their biological families. As foster parents, you play a vital role in helping children feel safe, seen, and supported during this emotionally complex time.

Celebrating National Adoption Month: Honoring Families, Hope and New Beginnings

November is National Adoption Month - a time to recognize the incredible love, resilience and commitment that define our foster and adoptive families. It’s a chance to shine a light on the thousands of children and teens waiting for permanent, loving homes, and to honor the families who open their hearts to provide stability and belonging.

For foster parents, this month is also a celebration of the vital role you play every day. Whether you are supporting reunification, offering a safe and nurturing space or exploring adoption yourself, your dedication creates life-changing possibilities for young people. This month reminds us that every child deserves connection, and every caring adult can make a lasting impact.

Thank you for all you do—your compassion helps build families and futures.
