FOSTER PARENT TIP
Halloween can be exciting but overwhelming for some kids in foster care. Keep costumes safe and comfortable, choose familiar activities, and create simple traditions that build positive memories.
TRAINING CORNER
Fostering independence in youth is a critical part of preparing them for adulthood. For foster parents, this journey begins on day one. Youth in care often face unique challenges that can hinder their ability to develop life skills, confidence, and autonomy. By intentionally supporting independence from the start, foster parents can empower youth to thrive beyond the system.

FOSTER FAMILY OF THE MONTH

Darmaine and Clemeyia Davis have been fostering with TFI since June and bring years of valuable experience as foster parents. They are skilled at helping children transition into their home, making each child feel welcomed and supported. The family is prompt in meeting children's needs and makes excellent use of local resources to obtain necessary items for new placements. They also do an outstanding job of building strong connections with biological families. Children placed in their home are included in all family activities, such as dinners and game nights, ensuring they feel truly valued, loved, and part of the family. Thank you, Davis family, for all you do for Oklahoma’s children.

DAY AT THE K 2025: A HOME RUN FOR TFI FAMILIES

On September 7, TFI families gathered at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City for our annual Day at the K, celebrating the incredible children, caregivers, staff and supporters who make our mission possible. More than 300 attendees came together for a day of connection, laughter and baseball fun as the Kansas City Royals took on the Chicago White Sox. From the tailgate lunch and prize giveaways to the joy of seeing so many of our families enjoy the game, it was a memorable day for all.
